This event is a fund raiser for the Visually Impaired Pre-School children.

Doug Prather will be hanging a new horse photograph this week on the Second Level.We’re excited to see the Summer picture showcasing just how beautiful Horse Farms are in the bluegrass. Hillenmeyer is working hard on filling 10 new planters with colorful flowers for the front of the hotel.It is amazing how fast things are changing.

Progress is nice to see on the Executive Level.All of the rooms on the 16th & 17th Floors have been completed and look great. The renovation on the front desk and lobby is coming right along and will be completed soon. We also started work on updating the pool with new tile this week. Stayed tuned more updates to come.

Lobby Renovation Beginning Next Week

We’ve had a really busy week here at the Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel. First Future Farmers of America to Firefighters attending the 80th Annual Kentucky State Fire School & Homeland Security Conference. Both groups are top notch in our books and we are happy to have them here at our Hilton Affiliate Hotel.

Speaking of Hilton and all of the changes coming we begin Renovation on the Front Desk and Business Center next week. Our Front Desk staff is ready for the challenges ahead in the next few weeks because change is exciting. The plans for our lobby look amazing and we can’t wait to see the drawings come to life!

Derby Week at Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel

It has been a busy Derby Week here at the Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel. We have a fun group in house right now with Premiere Sports Travel. We welcomed them earlier this week with Southern Belles passing out Bourbon Balls and Lemon Juleps. Of course thanks to our friends at Woodford Reserve and Ruth Hunt Candies for donating the delicious treats. It’s a great way to entertain our guests and with authentic products to really set the mood for Derby time in Kentucky!

Next week we have the pleasure of hosting another amazing event with the 10th Annual Women’s Business & Leadership Conference. The sponsor group, Women Leading Kentucky, is a professional non-profit women’s organization helping women lead and learn in the state. Their guest speaker for this year’s luncheon is Hugh Hefner’s daughter Christie Hefner. We look forward to hosting this event every year.

And last but not least renovations are still moving right along. Improvements are being made every day to the hotel. Spirits is almost complete and everyone is so impressed by what a transformation this new meeting space has undergone. Our Sales Department can’t wait to start booking this newly updated space.

April in Kentucky

April is a Fan-tastic month for the Hotel. Our Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel is always packed this time of year with enthusiastic horse racing fans that have traveled from around the world to attend Keeneland. Our guests have been so devoted they haven’t even let a few rainy days stop them from attending the races this year.

Speaking of enthusiastic we are again honored and excited to be the flag ship hotel for the Maker’s Mark Ambassadors. The Maker’s Mark Mile brings these patrons in every year and they are having a blast. The Bigg Blue Martini has turned into a sea of Red and the Maker’s Mark is flowing!

Spring is in The Air at our Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel!

What a beautiful time of year to visit Lexington with all the trees in bloom and flowers popping up everywhere. Just last week all the trees in Triangle Park sprouted with gorgeous white blooms. Fortunately we have an excellent front row seat to the Park here at the hotel.

So many exciting changes are happening at The Hilton Lexington / Downtown Hotel. We were so proud last week to install one of Doug Prather’s award winning photos in our lobby. The title of the photo is “The Glory of Kentucky” showing two yearling fillies from Gainesway Farm in the spring time. It brings so much color and life to our atrium wall with 20 panels reaching 17 feet wide and 22 feet tall. The picture is an amazing addition to our hotel.

The renovation work is coming along quite nicely with all of our Meeting Space almost completed. We are saying goodbye to Spirits Lounge today. We have a crew downstairs as I type clearing out the room. Spirits will be converted to another meeting room with 3500 square feet. You can’t have enough meeting space!
